What is Area 51?

- It's a military air base in the United States, a very secret one. It is located in the middle of the desert in Nevada. There, the military has tried various types of secret technology over the years, including the spy plane U2.

- Area 51 is a small part of this base, but there are several other areas. Another part of the area has been tested with nuclear weapons. Only a few years ago, the US military reluctantly acknowledged that there was even something out there in the desert.

Why do you think there are aliens there?

- It is because it has been so secret that people have started to conspire. In the late 1980s, a man named Bob Lazar went out and said he worked on Area 51 and saw saucer-shaped objects - UFO's. He meant that he worked as a physicist and technician. His history has been investigated and he has emerged more and more like a charlatan, he has not produced any actual evidence.

Which is the most common misconception?

- I think people think that you try flying flying objects from other civilizations, they test flying stuff there but it is highly terrestrial technology, which is far ahead. It is secret that other states should not find out what they are doing.

Is there any credible evidence of alien activity going on in the area?

- No, it doesn't. Most of it comes from Bob Lazar. Then there are stories on the internet, people who have seen light phenomena over the area. Then you think "mysterious light" = aliens. We in UFO-Sweden research over 200 tips a year since 1970, we solve almost all cases, what it is or what it indicates. We haven't found any evidence.
