The Nao Victoria has participated this Friday, next to the frigate 'Victoria', at the naval stop at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River to celebrate the V Centenary of the First Tour of the World , which the Spanish Navy has organized to honor the leading sailors of this maritime feat, the same day, September 20, that 500 years ago departed from Sanlucar de Barrameda (Cádiz) towards the ocean.

To do this, as indicated by the organization in a note, Nao Victoria started early in the morning of Sanlúcar and the Spanish frigate from the naval base of Rota, being at the mouth of the Guadalquivir, in the landfall buoy, which from This Friday Juan Sebastián Elcano has been renamed, in memory of the navigators of this historical deed .

In addition, from the frigate 'Victoria' a floral offering has been made and the Eagle patrol has joined the event with a demonstration area of ​​the Air Force. The naval stop that has been seen from the coast of Sanlucar and Chipiona, has had dozens of ships that have accompanied Nao Victoria and the Navy frigate, in an act of recognition of the men who starred in the greatest maritime adventure of the history.

After the naval stop, the Nao Victoria returns to Sanlúcar waters and will remain anchored in its river, in front of Bajo Guía, where it participates, starting at 7.30 pm, in the historical recreation of the shipment of the crew of the expedition .

An activity organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration of the Junta de Andalucía, framed within the Plan of Activities of the V Centenary Origin and Destination, as part of a wide calendar of events that throughout this weekend convert to Sanlúcar at the epicenter of the commemoration.
