Nagano Takamori Town Pig cholera confirmed at hog farm Disposal of all 112 animals raised September 19 14:10

According to Nagano Prefecture, on the 17th, we found that 8 pigs raised in a pig farm in Takamori Town were feverish.

When the prefecture examined the blood of the pigs, a positive reaction to the swine cholera virus occurred, and as a result of conducting a genetic test on 5 of these, it was found that all 5 were infected with swine cholera in the morning of 19th. It is confirmed.

In response to this, the prefecture held an emergency response headquarters meeting and confirmed that all 112 pigs raised in this pig farm were disposed of and that they were working on prevention of epidemics to prevent the spread of infection.

In this pig farm, the staff of the prefecture wearing protective clothing checks the number of pigs being bred and works to spread slaked lime around the facility. Digging work is also done.

In Nagano Prefecture, it has been confirmed that pigs bred at the Prefectural Livestock Experiment Station in Shiojiri City on 14th of this month are infected with swine cholera, but according to the prefecture, is it related to infection in two places? I do n’t know.

The prefecture checks the pig farms that are likely to be infected, such as using the same slaughterhouse as this pig farm, and then monitors the state of the pigs closely and alerts them.
