One concrete result of the metoo appeal in the actor's gag in the fall of 2017 is Malin B Erikson. She is Sweden's first intimacy coordinator after Riksteatern has now started a collaboration with her. The task is to monitor and discuss how intimate scenes should be performed.

- When you read a script, everything is usually described in detail, but then comes an intimate scene and there is only "hail". Yes, and what is the fuss? That's where I can go. It is important that there is a framework for both actors and directors regarding what applies to an intimate scene, says Malin B Erikson to the Culture News.

Works with consent

Malin B Eriksson's task is, just like a stunt coordinator to monitor violent scenes on film and television, to coordinate scenes that contain intimacy, nudity or simulated sex.

First, Malin B Erikson discusses the director's vision for the stage, then Malin B Erikson continues to work with the actors.

- Instead of saying "a kiss" we go through every step and every step of that kiss. When we have done that, we go into what we call consent where the actors agree on where they can be affected and where they can touch. Then we go through the physical moments, then we put on the emotional moments and finally the text.

Greater artistic freedom

Malin B Erikson works on ethical guidelines for intimate scenes on stage and film, developed by Ita O'Brien, who has worked as the intimacy coordinator for major HBO and Netflix ventures. The clearer the choreography, the safer the actors feel, says Malin B. Erikson.

- The actors have more room to actually play and go into a character. They can portray that character without thinking that, "Now we're going to improvise and make this kiss", everything is already choreographed, says Malin B Erikson.
