The last front: the lawyers of ETA

It had been years since a macro-trial was taking place against the environment of ETA like the one that has taken place in the view room of San Fernando de Henares (Madrid) against the members of the group of prisoners of ETA. Possibly the second with the highest number of defendants after the great macro trial of summary 18/98 that served to demolish the foundations of ETA and its entire network in 2006 and 2007. This time it has been the front of lawyers of ETA and its collection structures of funds for the killers .

The 245 prisoners of ETA in the Spanish and French prisons along with the more than 60 escaped from justice in mainly American countries, are the last redoubt of ETA that serves to pressure the Government of Spain in its historical claims of approaching the murderers to the Basque Country. The independence of the Basque Country and Navarra is a battle that they have already lost very much in spite of us and especially of our relatives killed throughout 50 years of history of terror .

The day before yesterday at the National Court, the group of prisoners of ETA, also called EPPK, has been hit hard. We must thank the Civil Guard and the Fiscal Ministry, represented by Miguel Ángel Carballo and the association Dignidad y Justicia, who have investigated and worked until the end of this process. The AVT also attended the trial.

The EPPK, through its network of structures: Herrira, Bar Collective, Etxerat, KT, KG and Jaiki Hadi had a specific function and assumed fundraising functions to provide legal assistance - hundreds of thousands of euros a year -, social assistance, medical as well as the responsibility on the acts of homage and welcome, Ongi etorris , and mobilization in favor of the murdered prisoners. It has always been known that the dome of ETA was directed by the group of lawyers of the terrorist organization and, in this trial, one of its bosses, Arantxa Zulueta , has recognized it in public view. It is true that there are other ETA bosses who, under the guise of a robe, are still active in moving the threads of ETA rales, something that some of us will pursue until we can also take them to trial.

This trial has not only been able to condemn the last structure of the civil plot of ETA, but almost 20 of the defendants will stop charging the public administration, because today, many of them are staff of local administrations governed by the heirs of Batasuna, today embodied by Bildu.

Since the declaration of illegality of activities of Gestoras Pro Amnesty in 2001, of Askatasuna in 2002 and the subsequent illegalization of both organizations in 2008, the ETA jail front had not had a mass organization as an organizational reference that would boost the claims to in favor of the murdered prisoners, being forced to use screen organizations like Etxerat or euphemisms like the Pro Amnesty Movement . It is when Herrira, a successor of Askatasuna, entered the game, whose formation was announced publicly in February 2012, created by ETA with the aim of "going out of hiding." Herrira mobilized Batasuna and nationalist society with a false appearance of being a movement created by Basque society.

The history and the story of the ETA murders throughout these five decades must be told as a systematic elimination of the population not batasuna nor in accordance with the postulates of ETA in the Basque Country. ETA was a terrorist organization sheltered by satellite, a network of groups - one of them of lawyers - companies, associations, press and foundations that protected, financed and justified the murder or crimes against humanity that were being committed . It is a story of murders where our relatives put the back of their neck, where the "servants and lackeys" of ETA executed the murders and "pretended" in the prisons and where their bosses who gave the orders of the attacks left unscathed or even dressed with the Robe to falsely appear to be what they were not.

However, we should never write the ETA account in any teaching book while there are 379 unsolved murders , without any justice for many years. We cannot allow almost half of ETA's murders to be diluted and forgotten over time because the terrorist organization decided eight years ago to stop killing. Even today many tentacles of the terrorist organization remain active, who, from a violence without murder, continue to illegally collect for the accommodation of ETA prisoners, stalking, extorting, coercing those who defend Spain and committing kale borroka through organizations like Sare, Ernai and the entire KT or hard core of lawyers in France. ETA dynamics that are still alive as the so-called Alde hemendik - Out of here - that throughout the year press and coerce to expel Civil Guard or National Police in the Basque Country and Navarra. Continued tribute acts to ETA prisoners when they leave prisons to receive them as heroes are another example that the germ of terror has not yet been removed.

For all this, all Democrats must join in a united Spain. PP, Citizens and Vox must join in a great coalition for the defense of our country, not only in the Basque Country, but in Catalonia and many other places in our country . The egos of each leader should be left aside and the future of our children should be considered since the PSOE is doing a disservice to a united Spain by friend with Bildu in Navarra or rubbing shoulders with Podemos for a national government. Even before possible pardons to those accused of breaking Catalonia, Spain must join. Herrira's defendants, that is, from ETA, have received the express support of Sánchez's future partners , acting president, which is a bad omen for our future. We will always be attentive.
