Carice van Houten intervenes alongside Creative Emmy for role Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones won the most prizes on Sunday at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The series won a total of ten awards. Carice van Houten was nominated for best guest role because of her role in Game of Thrones, but grabbed next to this prize. The series was nominated in eighteen categories.

Game of Thrones , with roles for Van Houten and Michiel Huisman, among others, won prizes for best makeup and best visual effects.

Chernobyl , the five-part mini-series about the 1986 nuclear disaster in the site of the same name, won seven Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The Handmaid's Tale also won prizes: in the category for which the 43-year-old van Houten was nominated, the American actress Cherry Jones won for her role as Holly Osborne in this series.

Van Houten puts the Creative Arts Emmy on Twitter in perspective. "Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose", the actress said about not winning with her role as priestess Melisandre of Asshai in Game of Thrones . "I had the best hair and the best dress. I didn't stumble on stage and didn't go over my neck. Win win."

Top chef and author Anthony Bourdain, who died in June 2018, posthumously won two Creative Emmies for Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, an unfinished travel program at the time of his self-chosen death.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are considered a measure of the Emmy Awards, which will be presented on 22 September. Game of Thrones has, four months after the release of the last episode, a 32 Emmy nominations.
