Tunisian polling stations opened their doors on Sunday to Tunisian voters to choose a president in unprecedented early elections, preceded by widespread advertising campaigns.

Twenty-four candidates are competing in the Tunisian presidential election, after the withdrawal of the two candidates, Mohsen Marzouk, head of the Tunis Project, and Saleem Riahi, head of the Tunisian Amal Movement.

The Independent High Electoral Commission of Tunisia said the total number of non-voters in the presidential elections (the first and second rounds), 7 million 74 thousand 566 voters.

The number of registered voters inside Tunisia reached 6,688,513 voters, and the number of registered voters abroad reached 386,53 voters.

The Independent High Electoral Commission said it had set up 30,000 polling stations in 4,567 polling stations at home and 303 abroad.
