The family of a late American doctor found the remains of more than 2,200 dead embryos at his home in Illinois, days after his death.

The network "Fox News", on Friday, that the doctor died days ago, specifically on September 3, noting that members of his family were looking at his property, when they found dead embryos.

Police said in a statement that there was no evidence so far of any abortions in the residence of doctor Ulrich Klover.

According to local reports, Clover worked in the women's section of a hospital in South Bend, Indiana, noting that he was suspended from work in 2015 after being charged with ignoring reporting to the authorities of an abortion by a 13-year-old girl.

The US police announced that they had opened a criminal investigation into the issue of the remains of dead embryos, which have been seized.
