Last night, the Cultural Foundation Theater hosted a concert by Emirati artist Mehed Hamad, who stunned the audience with some of his most famous traditional Emirati songs.

The heritage of Mehed Hamad, who has gained fame as one of the pioneers of the Emirati heritage song, includes more than 1,400 songs over 38 years. Along with his national songs, he is also known for his songs about the desert, which are usually accompanied by oud.

He was also known for his collaboration with American author and singer Therese Gibson, as well as many other prominent Arab authors and other artists.

He sang poems, written by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.

It is noteworthy that the cultural complex is witnessing a busy program, where the Abu Dhabi Children's Library hosted during the opening week, the exhibition «Journey between words», which focused on highlighting the role of books of animated stereoscopic in learning to read and write. The complex will also host in the main hall and on the ground floor until December 15, the solo exhibition «Najat Makki: Illuminations», which highlights the experimental and open approach adopted by the artist Najat Makki in its approach to the geographic and historical narratives, which were affected.

The Cultural Foundation is also celebrating the return of the “free studio” workshops through the launch of a new program focusing on artistic education, as well as the creation of “Calligraphy House” to be an area dedicated to the teaching of Arabic calligraphy.
