Terrence Howard stops acting after the sixth and last season of the Empire series, he says in an interview with Extra published Wednesday.

"I'm done pretending. I'm going to stop acting," fifty-year-old Howard replied to the question about his plans after the last Empire season.

Howard says "to show the world the truth", but does not explain that further. The actor, who has appeared in films such as The Best Man , The Butler and Hustle & Flow, says that he will miss his Empire colleagues enormously.

Howard's statement follows only a few months after rumors that the US tax authorities are investigating him on suspicion of tax evasion. An actor spokesperson does not want to confirm or deny that an investigation is ongoing.
