Hauptbahnhof Bielefeld: racist attacks group of students with irritant gas
A 39-year-old injured ten pupils and a teacher at Bielefeld Central Station. He told police that he was a "racist".
At Bielefeld train station, a man has attacked a group of children from Cologne with irritant gas. The incident injured ten students and one teacher on Wednesday. The Federal Police confirmed ZEIT ONLINE corresponding media reports. Against the 39-year-old offender is determined because of serious injury, apparently the man had racist motives.
To the police, the man said that the children had disturbed him. In addition, he should have mentioned in his interrogation, to be "a racist". As the Neue Westfälische reported, there was already an arrest warrant for the alcoholized man. This had nothing to do with the incident at the main station and also a completely different background, said the federal police.
The students came from Cologne to stay in a youth hostel in Bielefeld. Eight of the ten children were hospitalized for observation, two more were admitted to the children's hospital because of more severe symptoms, reports the Neue Westfälische , citing the fire department.
