Three associations of judges have requested responsibility and respect from the media in the treatment of the trial of the confessed murderer of a child. And they ask that no "speculation" or "value judgments" or "verdicts" be made. Reasonable and worthy requests all of them. Now you just have to ask yourself what judgment in Spain runs in the media without speculation, value judgment or verdicts. And, above all, why the judges do not let their voices be heard in other trials, especially those dealing with political corruption, where the denunciation of media sentences would make much more sense than in this of a murderous confessor. The reason must be linked to the evidence that judges and prosecutors are, together with the Police, among the main suppliers -filters- of the factual material that allows the media to speculate and sentence. Not having suffered the accused more social sentence than the one derived from his own confession and very limited by the characteristics of the fact itself - although there are always loopholes - the conspiracy temptation, more it seems that the judges have dedicated themselves, as it is not infrequent in them, to the salon bullfighting.

It is obvious that some informative coverage does not escape the vile vulgarity that journalism so often projects on everything it touches. And that the effect of vulgarity on pain is easy to describe as savagery. But the bankruptcy of the privacy suffered by victims has its reverse. It is likely that the details of the death of the skier Fernández Ochoa had remained in the privacy of being named Fernández. But it is equally likely that, in that case, his body would not have been found yet and that the anxiety of his relatives would continue to be harmful over time. Those who disappear in the media are a very small part of the total. Great resources are dedicated to them - the main one is sometimes citizen mobilization - and an attention that can be made obscene and repulsive, but whose warmth helps to overcome the trance and the first stays of the duel. It is that moral ambiguity one of the features of journalism , at all times, which on the other hand is not drastically different from that practiced by human beings when they care about each other, help and comfort each other, without being able to easily avoid point of sinuous intrusion.

This exercise of minimal realism cannot be completed without evidence that all televised justice includes revenge.
