Sharjah Events hosted a distinguished guest at the Moscow International Book Fair, the writer Eng. Salih Obaid, and the writer, Dr. Omar Al Hammadi, in a panel discussion entitled `` Living Certificates '', moderated by the poet Sheikha Al-Mutairi, in the emirate's pavilion participating in the exhibition in the presence of elite writers and intellectuals Emirati and Russian.

The session presented a review of the concerns of intellectuals and writers today in the UAE.The authors gave testimony about their vision of contemporary technological transformations, their impact on literature and creativity, the relationship of engineers and doctors to writing, as well as the importance of critique and its need to sort new works from other works.

Salih Obeid said that social networking sites provided a platform for anyone who wants to write his work and reaps the interaction of the public with her, considering that writing is a right for everyone, but in return it is important that the works are subject to systematic academic criticism.

Regarding the value and history of literature, she said: "It is astonishment that will continue to move literature, and ensure its survival, no matter how technological change and the memory and reality of societies in the world. Artificial intelligence will not be able to be surprised, so when the surprise ends, humanity will end."

Dr. Omar al-Hammadi also commented on the ethics of expressing opinion, writing and criticism on social media, pointing out that although these platforms have saved time and effort and created a state of interaction between the reader and the writer, they have allowed some to exploit them in destructive criticism and in contempt.

Asked about the relationship of doctors and engineers to writing, Al Hammadi explained that he sees writing as a queen, and engineering and medicine are experimental scientists who need to study. “You may be a doctor and write a wonderful literary work, but you can't wake up one day and find yourself turned into a doctor or Engineer". He pointed out that the history of literature attests to many writers doctors, such as: Arthur Conan author of Sherlock Holmes, Antoine Chekhov, Alaa Al Aswani, Mustafa Mahmoud, and others.

Emirati and Russian writers

As part of Sharjah's participation as a distinguished guest at the Moscow Book Fair, a session was held that brought together Emirati and Russian creators and discussed the impact of technology and artificial intelligence on the fate of cultural relations between peoples.

The founder and owner of Sadiqat for Publishing and Distribution, Salha Ghabish, Secretary General of the UAE Writers Union, Dr. Mohammed Bin Jerash, Igor Lovenc, and the poet Denis Ysbonsov, participated in the session.
