In "L'Equipée sauvage" on Europe 1, the cellist returns to his initiative in favor of the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris.

From September 17 to October 2, Renaud Capuçon will perform in six French cathedrals. The proceeds will go towards the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris, victim of a fire last April. In L'Equipée sauvage on Europe 1, the French cellist returns to this initiative.

Touched in his flesh

The day after the tragedy that ravaged Notre-Dame de Paris, Renaud Capuçon had delivered for Europe 1 a vibrant tribute to music.

The destruction of part of the building deeply shocked the musician. "I was doing an interview for AFP in Aix-en-Provence, the day after the fire, and I was asked the question.I had thought about this in the night and I simply told the person who interviewed me for AFP that I was going to give a series of concerts in September, "he recalls.

"A citizen act and believer"

The organization was not simple, as was the choice of cathedrals. Renaud Capuçon will perform in Chartres on September 17, Lyon on September 22, or Reims on September 24. "Publicis has made a team available because it takes a lot of work, a sponsor, who wishes to remain anonymous, pays all the costs," says the artist. "It's a citizen act and an act of believer too," adds Renaud Capuçon who promises "a highlight" during these future concerts.
