Two passenger planes have been trapped on the ground in Moscow's biggest airport.

The Interfax news agency said on Tuesday that the wing of one aircraft rubbed and entangled with the wing of another plane on their way to the runway at Sheremetyevo airport, causing no injuries.

The photos showed how the left wing of one aircraft intertwined with the right wing of the other aircraft, causing damage and wreckage.

One of the planes was on its way to Beijing while the other was empty.

The passengers of the Russian Airbus A330-300 were forced to disembark and board a replacement aircraft.
