With the participation of more than 357 international photographers, the fourth edition of the International Festival of Photography (Exposure), organized by the Information Office of the Government of Sharjah, will take place on September 19, and will provide over 1112 images in 38 individual exhibitions and eight group exhibitions. The festival will feature 33 panel discussions and 17 workshops by 10 of the world's most prestigious photographers, showcasing their creative experiences and hosting 21 photography professionals from leading agencies, press organizations and leading manufacturers of photographic equipment and supplies.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, said during a press conference held yesterday at the Al Majaz Theater to reveal the events of Exposure, that the festival opens its doors for the fourth year for the creators of the world in the field of photography to live new experiences with the image. Tariq Saeed Alay, Director of Sharjah Government Information Office, said: “The festival highlights through 1112 images a lot of issues and anecdotes such as concern for the environment and protection, and reviews the new experiences of photographers through 46 specialized exhibitions.”

He pointed out that the Timothy Allen grant received 1269 applications to participate, went to five photographers, who will visit Sharjah for the first time this year, namely: Shehab Nasseri (Iran), Ann Pantela (Greece), and Rousey Fang (Taiwan), and Sergei Barshkov (Russia), We will represent Kumaran Rajendran (India).

Alay added that this year's photography award attracted 14,757 entries in 11 categories of photography from 100 countries, with 70 candidates from 31 countries, and will be announced at the end of the festival. This year's festival is held under four themes: portray the magnificence of adventure, portray the depth of feelings, portray the magic of art, and portray the reality of life, which translates the mission of the festival in raising awareness of humanitarian issues, and emphasize the power of the image in changing events, and convey and detail.

Creations

This year, the festival celebrates the creations of four international photographers by organizing a special exhibition before the start, on September 18, where the photographer Stephen Wilkes, one of the most famous American photographers his creations in the exhibition entitled «day to night» and wildlife photographer Will Burrard Lucas presents his experiences at the Land of the Giants exhibition.

The festival also features a special exhibition by photographer France Lanting entitled "Face to Face with Life", and presents the details of everyday life with its intertwining and aesthetics through the exhibition of photographer Gabriel Wickbold «Light», which includes on the walls stories and stories from his lens from around the world.

Exhibitions between Sharjah and Dubai

Exposure is organizing five outdoor exhibitions for the emirates of Sharjah and Dubai, where an outdoor exhibition organized by World Press Photo (World Press Photo) will gather 45 photos of 45 photographers at the Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, along with 44 images displayed in four centers: The Dubai Mall , Mall of the Emirates, City Center Deira, City Center Mirdif.
