On the same day that a Navy ship, the Audacious , docked in Cadiz with 15 immigrants aboard from the Open Arms , another 155 immigrants violently assaulted the Ceuta fence. There were more journalists waiting for the arrival of the Audacious than immigrants on board, and there were them because the military rescue operation designed by Moncloa after his bungling and dilatory management of the Open Arms crisis had a purely propaganda purpose. As it was received by Aquarius in the early days of the Government of Sanchez after the motion of censure. As they have had the successive announcements of a future withdrawal of the concertinas in the mouth of Fernando Grande-Marlaska, irresponsible announcements in the case of a minister of the Interior who not only reach the ears of the mafias but also of Morocco, on whom it ultimately depends and by express agreement with Spain the task of containing irregularities.

It should be remembered that the last group jump of the Ceuta border was recorded on August 22, 2018, when the assailants took advantage of the relaxation of the Moroccan authorities during the Feast of the Sacrifice. A total of 119 undocumented persons managed to access the city, but all but three minors were returned the next day to Morocco. The same can be expected of those who, using violence against 11 civil guards who have needed medical assistance for bruises on their legs and arms, managed to cross the border yesterday. They did it, precisely, by the northern end of the border perimeter, near the sea breakwater that does not cover the fence with concertinas deployed during the last months by Morocco in parallel to the Spanish territorial defenses.

The Government cannot be criticized for defending the borders of Spain: it is its duty . What results from an embarrassing hypocrisy is that it holds a good-public discourse , laden with demagogy to avoid that we can subtract votes in this matter - not to remember the blushing role of life saver that was attributed in the Resistance Manual -, while his facts deny such rhetoric with forcefulness. But it happens that the Government of Sanchez treats the immigration issue like any other; that is, as one more piece in the construction of his relentless electoral story.

Every ignored reality prepares your revenge. And the migration challenge is surely the crudest reality that Europe faces in the 21st century, starting with its southern border. Populist hatching in Italy is not understood without its daily exposure to migratory flows, and our country is equally exposed to them. A dramatic sample of this occurred yesterday in Ceuta, but there will be more. In the plenary session held on Thursday about the migration crisis, all political groups undoubtedly undressed the contradictions and gangs of this Government that systematically puts representation before management. Immigration must be a matter of state. What Sanchez should do is park for once his obsession with propaganda and try to drive a joint European response to the immigration challenge with the help of Josep Borrell in his new responsibility as head of the diplomacy of the Union.
