“Democracy has gone out of fashion, and capitalism has gone out of control and gone crazy” (Emmanuel Macron).

All tonight and morning, anonymous telegram channels discussed the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia. Of course, against the background of these “insiders,” reality seemed less rosy. Still, the issue of exchange is not a post on a social network: coordination, bidding, preparation take place at the highest levels. This is big politics, and, as you know, miracles do not happen in it. There are pragmatism and national interests. However, I would like to talk about something else.

The day before Zelensky’s office received a call from Paris. French President Emmanuel Macron during a telephone conversation called on his Ukrainian counterpart to help resolve the conflict in the Donbass. This was reported on the site of the Champs Elysees. As specified in the press service, the head of France asked Zelensky to make every possible effort to overcome the conflict.

Whether they spoke of the release of the Russians is not reported. But I guess they did. Otherwise, how to explain the increased nervousness in Kiev? Perhaps Macron lucidly told the Ukrainian president that France no longer intends to pull the strap with its robber republic, which has become a real burden for Europe. And Zelensky heeded. Zelensky is generally a smart guy, unlike his overweight predecessor.

And the fact that Macron was not joking could be seen in the example of Russia's return to PACE, which so upset the Ukrainians. Who forgot - it was France that played a decisive role in this. What, incidentally, Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with his French counterpart:

“France is a permanent member of the Security Council, a nuclear power and plays a significant role in decision-making in the field of international security. I believe that France’s support on a number of issues, including, say, on the issue I mentioned related to the return of Russia to the Council of Europe, France’s position played a significant, if not key role. So, it seems to me that additional comments and evidence that we take cooperation with France in the most serious way should not be given, ”Putin said.

The next day, I also remind you, on the official Macron Facebook page there was an entry in Russian:

“Russia is a very deeply European country. We believe in Europe, stretching from Lisbon to Vladivostok. Progress is evident on many political or economic issues, for we are making efforts to develop Franco-Russian relations. I am convinced that in the course of this multilateral restructuring we must develop an architecture of security and trust between the European Union and Russia. ”

Such a turn in Franco-Russian relations was shocking to many: nevertheless, one should not forget that Macron is a protege of globalist liberal elites. And this smiling golden boy gives a sharp steering wheel to the left, appealing to the interests of sovereign France and its historical ally of Russia.

Even staunch critics of the French president, to whom I include myself, suddenly drew attention to this meeting with interest. The same head of the committee on international affairs, Leonid Slutsky, a man of completely rigid views and with a completely politically incorrect way of thinking, praised Macron's words about the European future of Russia. He said that Moscow supports the concept of Europe “from Lisbon to Vladivostok”, and France could lead the process of curtailing the EU sanctions policy. So - no more, no less.

Our diplomats know what they are talking about, but I would also pay attention to another aspect, namely, to the anti-imperialist speech after the G7 summit, where Emmanuel Macron insists on inviting Russia. “We are seeing the end of Western hegemony in the world,” said Macron. - If we do not build new relations with Russia, then we will remain with tensions, a frozen conflict and the consequences of the Cold War. We must deeply rethink our relations and build them anew. ”

Against the background of Macron’s sharp turn to rethinking France’s place on the pan-European political map, yesterday’s call to Zelensky does not seem casual or ordinary. It seems that Macron really took on the role of mediator in overcoming the crisis. And not because he is concerned about the territorial integrity of Ukraine or other small-town stupidities. Macron needs full-fledged relations with Russia, which can be brought to the supernova level after the completion of the Zhmerinsky television series.

And perhaps the most important thing I would like to note: the metamorphoses of the French president again give cautious hope for the repatriation of the famous Venezuelan revolutionary Carlos Ilyich Ramirez, who has been in a French prison for a quarter of a century. Such a gesture of goodwill on the part of Emmanuel Macron would demonstrate to the world that France is no longer a US colony and can make decisions independently without regard to its overseas partners. Prove to those who are fighting the police on the streets of Paris and Marseilles today that you are not a manager from the European Union, but the president of Great and Fair France.
