It was Ohno who won the victory with Governor Kiyoji Ueda, who served as the president of the National Governor's Association and reigned in the prefectural government for the fourth term.

Motohiro Ono 92,3482 votes Kenta Aoshima 860,602 votes

This election, which initially had many views with Qingdao dominance. What is the cause of Ono's reversal?

It suddenly

“Several days before the ambulance was transported, the surroundings, including a part of the supporters' association and part of the selection, raised a voice saying,“ Consider quitting the race, ”and my body finally raised the white flag.”

On August 16, during the election, a video of Kuniko Gyoda, who spoke with a mysterious aspect, suddenly appeared.
It was a video that felt hateful feelings towards something as well as the regret of having to leave the candidacy just before the announcement.

August 6th, two days before the notification date. Gyoda was at NHK Saitama Broadcasting Station. It was for the recording of Masami Broadcasting.

After recording, I left NHK, but this recording became the last prominent activity for Gyoda's governor's election.

Gyoda was scheduled to make a policy announcement on that day. It was a report of Gyoda's admission that I entered the camp that was rushing to prepare. Suspected heat stroke. It was an unexpected report.

The policy announcement that was originally scheduled to be cancelled. Instead, it was decided to encourage Gyoda to decline his candidacy.

"Involuntary"

The next day, a comment was announced that Gyoda's family heard from him.

Gyoda's candidacy declined, and Aoshima and Ohno's composition was virtually complete.

Succession of opposition candidates

This Saitama governor election. Gyoda was the first to announce the candidacy. Ohno announced the candidacy after Gyoda. The confusing election campaign began here.

Ohno was first elected as a member of the House of Councilors of the Democratic Party in 2010. Later, after the Democratic Party, he moved to the National Democratic Party and left before the election.

Gyoda was also elected as a member of the House of Councilors in 2007 from the same Democratic Party as Ohno. Later, after the green wind and everyone's party, he moved to the party of hope and also left before the election.

In other words, two people who have followed the same opposition path. It was clear that if the two people participated in the same election, the opposition votes would be broken.

Governor Ueda, on the other hand, has a history of being elected three times in the House of Representatives election from the Democratic Party. Governor Ueda went to support Ohno this time.

"Opposition party vote" that breaks ... Even at the exit survey

The fact that the opposition vote is likely to break when Ohno and Gyoda fight is also revealed in an exit survey conducted by NHK in the Upper House election.

In the Saitama constituency of the House of Councilors election, when we asked candidates for voting in the prefectural governor's election, all the supporters of the opposition system were divided.

Looking at the overall results, Qingdao is 28%, Ohno is 10%, and Gyoda is 7%.
Even if Ohno and Gyoda were added, Aoshima could not catch up.

Offense and defense toward unification

Since Gyoda and Ohno's candidacy were decided, talks about the unification of opposition-related candidates have been dealt with many times.

According to the officials, the Ono camp was making a movement to withdraw from Gyoda's candidacy to unify the opposition candidates.

However, Gyoda's willingness to run was firm, and the situation of parallel lines continued. Even after a long rainy season and hot days continued, there was no change.

The election date is August 8th. Even in August, discussions on unification did not proceed.

At the Ohno camp election campaign held a few days before the announcement, the harsh election situation was reported.

“Currently, I lost to Aoshima with a double score.”

While the opposition votes were expected to break up, it was natural.
There is little time left until the notice. The attendees were also impatient.

“After all, Gyoda-san will have to get off.”

In response to the intention of the camp, he tried to persuade Gyoda to decline his candidacy, but Gyoda was determined to be firm.

On August 4th and Sunday, 4 days prior to the announcement, Gyoda called the “Omiya Street Master Wars” at Omiya Station and held an extensive walk. On the next day, I attended a discussion at a local TV station.

On the contrary, the camp was getting excited for the election campaign.

“No more Gyoda's candidacy will be withdrawn.”

Many people thought so.

However, there was a story that movement toward unification was progressing under the surface of the water.

While Gyoda himself was firm, the officials pointed out the connection between Gyoda's supporters and Governor Ueda who supported Ohno.

Gyoda's support party was overlapped with Governor Ueda's support party.

A report of Gyoda's hospitalization that jumped into such a situation.

Gyoda's withdrawal from the candidacy became decisive.

The aspect turns into a fierce battle

Following the decline of Gyoda's candidacy just before the announcement, the election campaign became a striking battle between the ruling and opposition parties, and it turned into a fierce battle.

The decline of Gyoda's candidacy was also a blue sky for the Aoshima camp.

The Liberal Democratic Party side supported the legislators and athletes, and made efforts to solidify the organization and penetrate the non-partisan group. However, the fierce battle situation did not change even when the vote date approached.

One Ono camp. If Gyoda's medical condition recovers during a fierce battle, he plans to call Gyoda on the street and give Ohno a support speech.

That suddenly jumped out of Gyoda's sudden video.
The video didn't stop at explaining candidacy.

“Non-run horses are extremely painful. I will vote for Kenta Aoshima because it is the closest to my own stance of prefectural administration.”

An expression of support for Qingdao that suddenly jumped out. It was the opposite reaction to the thought of the Ono camp that expected Gyoda to give a support speech.

However, the Ono camp showed a bullish attitude that most of Gyoda's supporters overlapped with Governor Ueda's supporters who supported Ohno, so the impact would be small.

One Qingdao camp. Information that the Liberal Democratic Party side contacted Gyoda and expressed support in view of the fierce battle situation spread, but the Liberal Democratic Party side denied.

“I think they are doing more than the proactive support of Qingdao, but with a grudge against the Ono camp and their supporters who have declined their candidacy.”

End of election campaign

Since the video was delivered, Gyoda did not show any noticeable movement. It's not clear how the video affected the election campaign.

However, the election campaign was fierce until the end. In the final edition, the Qingdao camp strongly requested the Komeito and the Soka Gakkai, the supporting mother of the Komeito, to give support.

As the Liberal Democratic Party, the Secretary of the Secretary of the Secretariat supported the team twice before and after the announcement. Gathered high-profile cheering attorneys, and made efforts to raise the final vote.

In the Ono camp, the supporting governor Ueda cut down the conservative vote, and in Kawaguchi City, where the grandfather Motomi, who was most respected by Ohno, served as the mayor, cut down the support organization of the Liberal Democratic Party.

In addition, from the national politics, leaders of the opposition party, including the representative of the Constitutional Democratic Party Edano and the representative of the National Democratic Party, Tamaki joined Saitama Prefecture. He appealed for Ohno's support until the end.

Ohno stood on the street for more than 10 hours a day, and spoke to the non-partisan group for a total of more than 150 hours, sometimes wearing a cryogen on his neck.

Appealing for the "Citizen Party"

At first, there was a view that support from non-partisans would flow to Qingdao, a sports writer. However, if the lid was opened, Ohno got nearly 60% support from the non-partisan group in the NHK exit survey. On the other hand, Qingdao is supported by non-partisan groups in the low 30% range. It was one point that influenced the result.

“The tide changed when the opposition candidates were unified just before. The strategy of the Ono camp and Governor Ueda was taken.”
A voice from Qingdao officials was heard.

Ohno won the fierce battle by strengthening the unity of the opposition party.
There is a word that Ohno continued to appeal throughout the campaign.

"Prefectural Party"

Even after the composition of ruling and opposition party confrontation, he continued to sue that it was a principle claim that was not biased toward a particular party.

Ohno posted this on Twitter after the NHK wins were confirmed.

"The prefectural party wins. Start here."

That should be it. Ohno, who fought with Governor Ueda and won with the support of the opposition party, but the prefectural parliament awaiting the future is dominated by members of the Liberal Democratic Party.

How do you succeed Ueda prefectural government and what kind of parliamentary operation you will show to many parliaments?
It is from now on that skill is asked.
