His arrival surprised the French audiovisual landscape. An animator on RTL since 2012, Marc-Olivier Fogiel left the station to become managing director of BFM-TV. At 49, he took the lead in an undisputed leader channel among news channels, but has targeted many critics for his coverage of the crisis of "yellow vests".
Pillar of BFM TV since its launch in 2005, Ruth Elkrief, who will once again this season at the head of his own show at 19 hours, is delighted with this arrival. "It brings us a lot of energy," she says at the microphone of Philippe Vandel, in Culture Media , on Europe 1.
Marc-Olivier Fogiel "is a very great journalist," says Ruth Elkrief. "He brings a lot of energy, a lot of desire, he has lots of ideas." And among these ideas, one directly concerns the reporter's program. This figure of French journalism will participate in a debate, every evening from 19:40, in front of polemicists or columnists present on the set as the editor of Marianne Natacha Polony or insubordination Sophia Chikirou. Commending "her talent, her wit, her humor and her intellectual baggage", Ruth Elkrief justifies her presence in her show with "a need for landmarks" in a "hectic, troubled, complex political period".
