The trial against film producer Harvey Weinstein has been postponed by a new indictment of actress Annabella Sciorra. The seat has been moved to January. This was announced Monday in court, AP reports.
Weinstein is now being charged by two women for sexual abuse. The charges must first be investigated before they can be dealt with in the process. According to the prosecutors, the indictment was necessary as a basis for the Sopranos actress Annabella Sciorra, who testified against Weinstein. Sciorra claims that the film producer raped her in 1993.
It is the third indictment in the Weinstein criminal case. One of the charges is no longer running. The film producer denies all allegations of sexual abuse. His lawyers try to get the trial out of the media attention with a request to have the trial take place somewhere else than in New York.
