Guinness World Records is preparing to celebrate the 15th edition of the International Day on November 14, which is an annual event to celebrate the arrival of the Guinness Book of Records to the best-selling copyright books in history. This year's theme was dedicated to the spirit of adventure, which sees thousands of adventurers across the globe seeking the title of record holder.

The regional director of the Guinness World Records Office in the Middle East and North Africa, Talal Omar, said that the Foundation is about to reveal many stories of Arab adventurers during the day. "Our mission is to inspire the younger generation, spark the challenge, and honor them with thousands of adventure lovers around the world."

He stressed that the Foundation receives about 50,000 requests to break records every year around the world, equivalent to about 1000 requests a week: «The requests for records are answered within 12 weeks, but we will give special priority to requests related to the subject of this world (the spirit of adventure), and we will intensify our efforts To provide an initial response within five working days only. ”

The foundation has unveiled this year's edition of the Guinness Book of World Records 2020, which includes regional records for the Middle East.

Omar said: «Adventurers are the backbone of this life, and thanks to them arrived in areas where he never reached before. At Guinness, we believe that everybody is superior in a certain area, and that makes us all eligible to have official records. ”

The Foundation highlighted inspirational stories of people who have made exceptional adventures, most notably Faisal Hassan - a diver of the record-breaking 10-km scuba dive, which took about five hours and 24 minutes in a successful attempt in Hurghada, Egypt.

"I am delighted to participate in the Guinness World Records celebrations and I hope that my achievement will inspire others. I used 26 air cylinders to make this attempt and broke the previous record by 57 minutes. "I had to redouble my efforts to break a record that a healthy person had to carry, which was my dream for almost 13 years, after the car accident."
