Coalition forces in Yemen today successfully intercepted and shot down "drones" fired by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia towards civilian objects in Khamis Mushayt and Jizan in Saudi Arabia.

Col. Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the coalition forces, said all attempts by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia to launch drones are doomed to fail, noting that coalition forces are taking all operational procedures and best-of-engagement rules to deal with these aircraft to protect civilians.

He pointed out that the repeated terrorist attempts express the state of despair of this terrorist militia and confirm the criminalization of Iran's agents in the region and those behind it, as it stresses the magnitude of the losses of its terrorist elements, which throws them every day in a losing battle, causing a state of social and popular discontent.

He stressed the continued leadership of the joint coalition forces to implement deterrent measures against this terrorist militia to neutralize and destroy these capabilities and strictly, in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules.
