Girl Group BLACKPINK is the first K-pop girl group to receive 'Gold' certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Billboard said on the 23rd local time that BLACKPINK's 'DUDU DU DOO' received the digital single category gold certification from RIAA, and "BLACKPINK is the first Korean women's group to receive RIAA certification."

RIAA certifies as Gold (over 50 million), Platinum (over 1 million), Multi Platinum (over 2 million) and Diamond (over 10 million) based on single and album sales.

Includes record sales, paid digital downloads, audio and video streaming, and more.

As a K-pop singer, BTS has set the highest record in Korea with several gold and platinum certifications in singles and albums.

The title track of the mini album 'SQUARE UP', 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' has been loved for setting various records since its release in June last year.

The album and title tracks reached the top of the K-pop girl group by entering 40th and 55th positions on the Billboard 200 and Billboard 200, respectively.

In addition, the music video of 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' recorded the shortest time record in both K-Pop men's and women's groups since it broke YouTube's 200 million views, and the fastest of 900 million views.

Billboard said, "We expect the 'dudu todudu' music video to be the first billion-view music video of the K-pop group, exceeding 925 million views."
