Junior high school students discuss bullying experience at school, Chiba Kimitsu, August 23, 17:15

An event was held in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture to discuss what junior high school students can do to prevent bullying at school.

This event was held at 10 junior high schools in Kimitsu City, and a junior high school student council was held.

First, we introduced cases where each participating school made efforts to prevent bullying and isolation of certain students, focusing on greetings when going to and from school, and volunteering together.

After this, the students discussed and talked about their experiences, such as the fact that bullying became intense while teasing their physical characteristics, or that they could not be stopped just by watching bullying.

On top of that, in order to prevent bullying, everyone can say, “I want to tell people who are being bullied that they are not alone” or “If you are bullying you should stop "I want to tell" was given.

In the third grade of Kimitsu Junior High School, President Toshiyo Yoshioka of the Junior High School Joint Student Council said, “I was able to think about the importance of preventing bullying again.”

Mr. Daisuke Watanabe of the Kimitsu City Board of Education said, “Based on the opinions of students, faculty and staff want to understand the situation of children and prepare for the second semester.”
