After being fired for leading the MBC strike in 2012, Lee Yong-ma, who was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer and died of fighting, died on the 21st. 50 years old.

The reporter passed away at 6:44 am at Asan Medical Center.

He suffered from peritoneal mesothelioma found during his dismissal. He recently stopped worsening due to worsening conditions and closed his eyes as his family watched.

MBC said, "Busan will be arranged at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul, and the headquarters will have funeral service as a memorial service for the deceased who fought hot to normalize public broadcasting."

Born in Namwon, Jeonnam in 1969, Lee Yong-ma, a former journalist at Jeonju, Seoul National University, and the Graduate School of Economics, joined MBC as a 1996 journalist.

Major reports include reports of accusations of luxury family cemeteries in forest conservation areas, and close coverage of the audit process for suspicions of the sale of KEB.

Since 2011, he has been the head of public relations at the MBC headquarters of the National Journalism Labor Union. He was fired on March 5, 2012.

During his dismissal, he voiced several voices to fight for the normalization of public broadcasting. He reinstated on December 8, 2017, five years and nine months of dismissal, and went to work three days later.

His books include Changes to the World, Democratization and Democratic Promotion Council of Korea (co-authored), Reality and Reform Tasks of Local Autonomy in Korea.

His survivors include his wife Kim Soo-young and his children.
