Sisters in their 60s rescued a man who was swept offshore Niigata August 21, 14:08

On the 18th of this month, the police gave a letter of appreciation to the sisters in their 60s who rescued a man who was washed off the coast of Niigata City on the 20th.

The letter of appreciation was given to sisters Harumi Koban (69) and Kyoko Kawai (66) in Chuo-ku, Niigata City.

When they visited Hiwayama Beach in Niigata City with their family on 18th of this month, they noticed that a man with a floating ring was swept away from the coast about 100 meters and asked for help. After my sister Koban jumped into the sea and swam to the man, my sister Kawai also helped the man.

The rescued man in his 30s was not injured.

In response, the two received a letter of appreciation from the director of Koichi Tomii of the Niigata Central Police Station on the 20th. My sister, Koban, swims in the pool three times a week. My sister, Kawai, enjoys scuba diving and both have confidence in swimming.

Sister Koban said, “While the wave was hesitant, the men were being washed away, so I went to help my sister saying“ I ’m going. ” I thought I had a mess of age, and I was relieved when the man was helped. "
