Robert De Niro's company has filed a lawsuit of 5.4 million euros (six million dollars) against a former employee who accuses of watching 55 episodes of Friends in four days during his workday.

According to Variety , Chase Robinson, who until recently worked as vice president of production and finance at Canal Productions, the film producer of the famous American actor, is accused of wasting time during office hours watching television programs and series.

De Niro's company clarifies that Robinson " wasted astronomical amounts of time watching Netflix during work hours," adding to his Friends marathon another 20 episodes of Arrested Development and 10 of Schitt's Creek .

" Watching programs on Netflix was by no means part or related to Robinson's duties and responsibilities. He did it for personal entertainment, fun and pleasure at times when he was paid for work," the lawsuit says.

In addition, Canal Productions also accuses Chase Robinson of accumulating exorbitant hotel and restaurant expenses and using De Niro's frequent flyer miles for his personal trips. The company claims that Robinson charged $ 21,619 (18,900 euros) in different restaurants in New York and $ 32,000 (28,800 euros) in taxis to the company's accounts.

Robinson was hired as De Niro's assistant in 2008. She was later promoted to vice president of production and finance at the loan company with a salary of $ 300,000 per month (270,000 euros).

She left the company in April, amid growing concerns about the alleged "corporate sabotage," the lawsuit says. Upon his resignation he sent an email in which he allegedly described the concerns about his expenses as "ridiculous." Later, he wrote a letter of recommendation for her, which Robert De Niro refused to sign affirms Variety .
