The Nordic Council Film Prize nominates five films each year - one from each Nordic country. Reconstruction Utøya is Sweden's nominated grant in 2019. The documentary was created together with survivors from Utøya, and according to director Carl Javér, the award is not only an honor for him and the film but also for "everyone who was in the making of this delicate film that demanded everything from us in the form of commitment, responsiveness and courage ”.

Tuva Novotny also nominated

- I especially think of the young survivors of the terror attack at Utøya 2011. Rakel, Mohammed, Jenny and Torje who in the film dared to go back to that day and recreate what they remembered so that we as an audience could take part in and understand something more about the terror that is affecting us in the Nordic countries and the rest of the world right now, says director Carl Javér in a press release.

Other nominees are the Norwegian feature film Blind Spot, which is Swedish Tuva Novotny's directorial debut, Finnish Aurora by Miia Tervo, Icelandic A white white day and Danish Hjärter Dam by May el-Toukhy with Trine Dyrholm in the lead role.

Five different prizes are awarded

The winner will be announced on October 29 in Stockholm, when the Nordic Council's other awards in music, environment, literature and children's and youth literature will also be awarded. The winner of the Nordic Council Film Prize is awarded DKK 350,000.
