Madrid as a national lighthouse

The Community of Madrid has such political and economic importance that it was the most coveted place by all parties in the regional past. In that sense, the investiture of the popular Díaz Ayuso , who took office yesterday as president of the region, represents a great triumph for the PP after its poor results in the generals. But we are also facing an incontestable claim of its leader, Pablo Casado , who has largely consolidated thanks to the recovery of the Mayor's Office of the capital and the retention of the autonomous government. Ayuso was a personal bet of his. And, despite the initial misgivings among his own, time has proved him right in his strategy. It has all the logic that, in the current scenario, the PP is going to make Madrid its main board of operations to demonstrate to all Spaniards that there is a clear alternative to the policies of the PSOE and its preferred partner, Podemos. It is not about opposing Sánchez from Puerta del Sol, but about promoting a program at a regional level that could be valid for the nation as a whole. This is what Casado promised yesterday.

The composition of the Autonomous Government is a declaration of intent in that regard. The directors appointed by the PP - six depend on Citizens, their partner in the Coalition Executive - have a great political shaft , they are not mere qualified technicians, in total harmony with the popular leadership. Names like Javier Fernández-Lasquetty -which has been Casado's chief of staff- to take charge of the Treasury, Enrique Ossorio in charge of Education or the judge of the National Court Enrique López as Minister of Justice allow to conclude that, in line with what Casado defended when he won the Congress of his party, the new Government of Madrid does not seek to limit itself to the best possible management, but is determined to fight the battle of ideas . It is what the supporters of the party have long demanded.

An important tax cut , in which Andalusia is going to support it as we advance today, and a clearly liberal program , which emphasizes issues such as the right of parents to choose their children's education or freedom of choice in Health, are two of the axes that Díaz Ayuso stressed again yesterday. Madrid has already shown that, with tax cuts, it has boasted more effective economic policies than other territories , generating more employment and raising more to offer better social services. There is total harmony with Citizens. The orange formation and the PP, with the necessary external support of Vox , which is expected responsibility and height of view, know that the magnifying glass is going to be placed on Madrid. And, also thinking about their future expectations, despite the fact that the balances are complicated, they are bound to have effective cohabitation and be an example for a possible national agreement when it touches.
