Three sketches of the Little Prince , drawn by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry but undated, were found by chance, in an old house in northern Switzerland. They were stored with thousands of other drawings and belonged to a real estate mogul, collector, who died last year.

These are three very poetic drawings, like those published in the Little Prince . Made in India ink and watercolor on paper from the air mail, we see on one of them the Little Prince and a fox. On the other, a fat man who drinks, sitting on the top of his planet.

Finally, the last sketch is that of an elephant digesting a boa accompanied by some handwritten notes of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. In addition to these three drawings, a love letter addressed to his wife, Consuelo , was found. They belonged to the Zurich collector Bruno Stefanini who died in 2018 at age 94, probably forgotten and then stored with thousands of other drawings.

For now, we do not know what will become of these sketches. Perhaps they could join the rest of the Little Prince's original drawings held at the Morgan Library in New York. It is also in this city that Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote his famous novel published in 1943.

To date the Little Prince remains one of the best-selling books in the world. Translated into 270 languages and dialects, 145 million copies were sold.
