German travel medicine has warned tourists that contamination of food and drink raises the risk of developing E. coli.

The symptoms of these bacteria are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever.

To avoid infection, tourists must abide by health requirements when traveling to countries where health is deteriorating, such as not eating salad and raw vegetables and eating fruits only after washing well and peeling, and eating ripe meat, in addition to not using tap water for drinking or cleaning the teeth.
