CNN published a nice piece of information showing the secret of a small pocket in jeans. The site says that jeans were invented and designed in the cowboy era in the United States. One of the oldest companies in the design and production of jeans made this small pocket specially to be the holder of the small watch.
Although this watch is no longer used, the pocket is still there! But we hardly see Ginza without this pocket.
