The “Yosakoi Festival”, which colors Kochi's summer, was held, and dancers performed a lively dance while the strong sunlight shone.
The 66th “Yosakoi Festival” will start on the 10th, and 207 teams and 28,000 dancers, which are the second most popular in Japan and overseas, are participating.
The festival is held at 16 venues in the center of Kochi City. Among them, dancers in various costumes gathered at a performance hall in a shopping street in the city. I was performing a dance full of dynamics. The dance hall was filled with the enthusiasm and smiles of the dancers, and while the strong sunlight shone, the music of Yosakoi and the shout of the dancers resonated in Kochi's summer sky.
A dancer woman from Tokyo said, “This is the second time I attended, but I don't have any other festivals where I can dance all day, so I want to have a lot of fun.”
The actual performance of the Yosakoi Festival will be held until 9:30 pm on the 11th, and on the 12th day of the final day, a national tournament will be held in which the winning team and teams from around the country will perform.
