A 32-year-old man playing in the river died Gifu Seki August 11 18:48

Before noon on the 11th, a 32-year-old man was washed away in a river in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, where he was rescued but confirmed dead.

At around 11:20 am on the 11th, there was a report from a nearby person that Akihisa Doi (32), a temporary employee of Nakakiri, Mitake-cho, Gifu Prefecture, was swept away at Itabori River in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture.

Mr. Doi was found approximately 30 meters downstream and was taken to a hospital in Seki city, but was confirmed dead approximately 2 hours later. According to the police, Doi-san was playing in the Itabori River with three women and children.

The site is about 150 meters upstream of Chubu Electric's Shiratani power station, and many people visit because there is a campsite nearby.

According to the police, the river width of the site is about 8 meters, but the water depth is about 3 meters, which is suddenly deeper even at a place near the riverbank.
