In addition to the ability to win the women's golf overseas major tournament and the British Women's Open, it is attracting attention not only because of its natural appearance. Tenma Ranman “smile” and “mogumogu”. Looking for the origin in Shibuno's hometown, Okayama, I found a secret of strength and a strong bond with local people. Crying or being wiped

Shibuno who just passed the protest last year. The first overseas tournament was the British Women's Open.

Contrary to the surrounding imagination that I would be nervous, many people were surprised by the fact that they always faced the game with a smile while making a high touch with the gallery.

However, it was an unexpected childhood that my mother, Nobuko, who responded to the interview in Okayama, revealed immediately after the victory.

“It wasn't a smile from the old days, but originally the emotions were very intense. If you didn't do what you think with golf or softball, you were crying or sneaking.”

Golf is a sport where emotions can easily affect play. When frustrated disturbed their heart and did not produce the results they wanted, they said that their parents repeatedly cheated “with a smile”.

The power of smile

When Shibuno graduated from junior high school, the colored paper left in the practice area in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, was written “Smile” with his special calligraphy.

Jun Sato, who had been teaching since I was an elementary school student, told me about the thoughts contained in colored paper.

“At that time, there was no smile during play, it was a type that dragged mistakes. I think I wrote this word to tell myself. You can change your mind by smiling.”

About smile that became trademark now. Shibuno looked back at the press conference after returning home.

“Smiles are common throughout the world. This time, I thought for a moment that if you worked with smiles, you would get results.”

The power of smile to control ups and downs feelings. That was the secret of the strength of “Smile Cinderella”.

“Momogugu” to relieve tension

Along with the smile, Shibuno became synonymous with the appearance of "mogumogu" rice balls and sweets between play.

The standard golf course at the local golf course that Shibuno has been visiting since junior high school is "Torikara set meal". It is said that he always ate a generous set meal with six deep-fried fried chicken surrounded by many people with a smile.

And candy. The last day of the British Women's Open surprised the world by eating delicious candy from the camera's point of view despite the intense fight for victory.

Although it looks like Tenma Ranman, there was also a thought of Shibuno.

“I was very nervous on the last day. I thought I could relax my tension when I was satisfied.”

Shibuno's high school golf club manager Kiyoshi Tanabe said that he was relieved to see this “mogumogu”.

“I used to eat sweets a lot since high school. I thought she looked like she was eating snacks at game venues. Because her strength is that she can always be in peace.”

Eating candy was a “routine” that calmed down with a smile.

A familiar candy store is damaged by heavy rain in western Japan

Shibuno, who likes sweets, has a familiar shop that she has been attending since childhood. "Tsuboi store" in Higashi-ku, Okayama City. Founded in 1927 by 85-year-old shop owner Hiromi Tsuboi, it is a famous candy shop that boasts a wide selection of 500 items.

Shibuno's favorite that he had visited with his friends and mother after school was Shirume and Ume sweets. After the championship, inquiries from inside and outside of the prefecture were inundated, and many people visited there.

However, it was a completely different situation a year ago. The store was flooded on the floor due to heavy rain in western Japan last July, and all the products were flooded. Mr. Tsuboi who was at a loss, he said that he also thought of collapsing a store that has been around for 70 years, due to his own age.

Still, I wanted to see the smiles of the children, and after 2 months, I resumed business with the support of the surrounding people. It was the existence of Shibuno who passed the protest at the same time.

“I'm really happy that there are so many players from the local area and the local area is getting better. I want to come back to Okayama as soon as possible. I want to take a picture together and get lots of sweets.”

Rejuvenate the disaster area

Mr. Shibuno, who visited the store immediately after the first domestic tour victory in May. He talks about his strong feelings for the affected local area.

“I have never forgotten the day of the torrential rain. I thought I wouldn't get results to cheer up the locals.”

Behind that “mogu mogu” there was a strong bond with people who support in Okayama.

With the victory of the British Women's Open this time, the world ranking has risen significantly, and we have advanced to participate in the Tokyo Olympics next year.

Shibuno's “smile” and “mogumogu”. The next stage, Okayama, is eagerly expected to see where the brightness will be seen.
