In order to increase the number of international flights at Haneda Airport, a national and related local government meeting was held to discuss new flight routes that pass over the city center planned by the national government. We asked for understanding once again about the start of operation.

To increase the number of international flights at Haneda Airport for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, we plan to increase the number of arrivals and departures for international flights from approximately 60,000 times to 91,000 times a year by establishing new flight routes that pass over the city center.

On the 7th, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and special local mayors associations created by the mayors of Tokyo and Tokyo 23 wards, as well as related officials from related local governments such as Chiba Prefecture, attended.

The council first asked the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in charge after explaining the policy of starting the operation of the new route passing through the city center from March 29 next year.

On the other hand, while the local government side expressed the understanding of the new route, such as “The new route is extremely important for the realization of the next year's Tokyo Games and we want to proceed steadily”, Some respondents demanded sufficient countermeasures against noise and falling objects.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is expected to determine a new flight route on the 8th based on the opinion of the local government issued on the 7th.
