Yamagata Shinkansen resumption of operation

As the Yamagata Shinkansen was found to be affected by the rails, which had been affected by extreme heat, some sections in Yamagata Prefecture had stopped operating at the upper and lower lines between Yonezawa Station and Yamagata Station after about 4 pm. Operation resumed at 7:30 pm, half an hour later.

According to JR East etc., around 3:30 pm on the 6th, when the down train passed between Yonezawa Station and Okita Station on the Ou Main Line, the driver contacted us that a normal roll occurred.

As a result of JR staff examining the vicinity, it was found that the rail was distorted.

In Yonezawa City, the maximum temperature of 36 degrees 6 minutes was observed on the 6th, and according to JR, the rails seem to be distorted due to the heat.

As a result, the Yamagata Shinkansen running on the same track as the Ou Main Line had been postponing operation at the upper and lower lines between Yonezawa Station and Yamagata Station after 4 pm, but the restoration work was over, and about three and a half hours later Operation resumed at 7:30 pm.

The Yamagata Shinkansen line is suspended for 4 sections in total, affecting about 430 passengers.
