At the end of July, a warm cyclone, which brought abnormal heat to the countries of Europe, hung over Greenland. Under its influence, the Greenland ice sheet sent at least 11 billion tons of surface ice to the Atlantic Ocean within one day. According to scientists from the Danish Meteorological Institute, a cyclone can provoke the most massive melting of glaciers since the beginning of the history of observation of them in 1950.
