Invited from Europe 1, the rector-archpriest of Notre-Dame de Paris spoke about the new security measures governing the life of the reconstruction site of the burned cathedral.

INTERVIEW

The reconstruction will wait. The yard of Notre-Dame de Paris was stopped until the week of August 12th in the face of the identified risks of exposure to lead. The roof and the spire of the building contained 300 to 400 kilos of this metal, gone to dust on April 15 during the fire that ravaged the building. In particular, the labor inspectorate requires that the rules and protocols governing life on the site be reviewed. And among them: decontamination devices for staff working on site.

"We redesigned the shower system," said Monday at the microphone of Sebastien Krebs, on Europe 1, Patrick Chauvet, the rector-archpriest of the cathedral. "They were small, not very convenient, it did not encourage everyone to go in the shower, it will be absolutely mandatory," he says. And to add: "I think the staff are no longer in danger."
