The Arab Media Forum praised the selection of Dubai as the capital of the Arab media 2020, confirming the leading role of Dubai in the media industry at the Arab and international levels.

This choice came from the Council of Arab Ministers of Information, at the end of its 50th session in Cairo, "in accordance with the professional and institutional standards of Dubai, which deservedly deserved to be the capital of Arab media."

"We are confident that the selection of Dubai as the capital of the Arab media will achieve great success and that this year, crowned by Dubai, will be a defining feature of the UAE and Arab media as a whole," said Secretary General of the Arab Media Forum Madi Al Khamis.

The idea of ​​selecting an annual capital for the Arab media was presented by the Arab Media Forum three years ago to the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and endorsed by Arab Ministers of Information.

Over the past three years, Jerusalem has been chosen as the capital of the Arab media in the first session, Baghdad in the second session, and Riyadh in the third session. The recommendations of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information were that Jerusalem is the permanent capital of the Arab media in conjunction with the selection of any other capital.
