On the occasion of Friday's victory of Algeria against Senegal (1-0) at the African Cup of Nations (CAN), the French rap group PNL offered a surprise to its fans: a Unpublished piece that celebrates this historic victory of Algeria, which had not won this competition since 1990.
"Proud as Algeria !! It has been a long time since we wanted to release this strong green blood that runs in our veins," tweeted the group, Friday, July 19, around 23:30, at the time of the final whistle.
Proud as Algeria !! It's been a long time since we wanted to release the strong green blood that flows in our veins and this is the best way for us to get out our fucking blood !!! In a few minutes on all platforms!
A tribute to their Algerian roots
The title, called Tahia refers to the expression "Tahia Djazair" ("Long live Algeria" in French). On the illustration of the piece, the Eiffel Tower is next to the Memorial of the Martyr of Algiers. With this new title, the two brothers Ademo and NOS wanted to pay homage to their Algerian origins transmitted by their mother.
Shortly before the end of the match, around 10:45 pm, PNL had posted a mysterious tweet - "right now" - to get fans of the band excited. A communication operation that seems to have proved effective since the day after the victory, Tahia already had nearly 800,000 views on Youtube.
