A spin-off from the popular teen series Gossip Girl will be featured on the new HBO Max streaming service, Variety reports.
The new series will not pick up the story of the original characters, but will take place eight years later and follow a new generation of teenagers.
Gossip Girl was on the American channel CW for six seasons from 2077 to 2012. In the Netherlands, the series was broadcast on Net5. The story revolved around a group of wealthy New York teenagers at a private school on the Upper East Side. The thread running through the story was the website of the anonymous Gossip Girl , which featured all the school scandals and gossip.
The series included Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Taylor Momsen, among others.

HBO Max is the new streaming service from WarnerMedia. It was previously known that the Friends service and other series made by WarnerMedia, such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Pretty Little Liars, will have in its library .
It is not yet known exactly when HBO MAX will start and whether the service will also become available in the Netherlands. The service will offer three different subscriptions.
