Anna

French director and producer Luc Besson seems to have a certain weakness for the images of strong and dangerous women. Otherwise it is impossible to explain the fact that now the third picture in his directing filmography has a female name and tells about a girl who with one left hand is able to do away with a crowd of trained strong men.

In 1990, Besson removed the spy thriller "Nikita", in which it was a question of a charming and deadly girl working for the French special services. In 2014, the director broke the jackpot, releasing the blockbuster "Lucy" with Scarlett Johansson in the lead. This story of a woman endowed with supernormal abilities brought her creators more than $ 450 million in profits with a budget of $ 40 million.

But there were still tapes "The Fifth Element" and "Leon", which, although they do not fully fit into this concept, but also told about strong and beautiful girls with a difficult fate.

And now "Anna". This time the main character is Russian, and the action takes place in the late 1980s and early 1990s in the USSR and France. Anna Polyatova is a high-class killer from the KGB. For conspiracy, she concurrently works as a model in Paris. One day, a CIA agent goes to her and tries to recruit her ...

The main role in the film was performed by Russian woman Sasha Luss. As in the film, the girl works in the modeling business. Earlier, she had already starred in Besson in the film “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”, where she got the episodic role of Princess Leeho-Mina.

"The Runaways"

The protagonist of this tape is a popular pop singer named Alex (Konstantin Kryukov). Being at the height of fame, he began to pay less attention to work, preferring entertainment. As a result, ratings artist crawl down. His producer Katya (Anastasia Kalmanovich) tried in vain to sensate Alex. Desperate to do this, she made a radical decision to incriminate an assassin against him in order to earn money on the sale of the musician's posthumous album on the wave of public resonance caused by the death of a star.

To avoid such a sad fate, Alex went on the run. To help him decided Stepan (Eugene Tkachuk) - a killer, whom Katya also hired earlier to eliminate the singer, but he did not fulfill the task and now he must also hide. The company of two fugitives was a girl Nastya (Ravshana Kurkova), who met Alex at the bar.

The film director Ara Hovhannisyan is known to viewers from the films Friends of Friends and Take a Shot, Baby! For the first time, the public “Runaways” was presented in the summer of 2018 at the festival “Window to Europe”, where the picture received positive reviews.

The Corrupted

The tape takes place in London on the eve of the 2012 Olympic Games. The main character is Liam (Sam Claflin). He comes out of prison with the firm intention to break with the criminal past and start a new life.

However, this is not so easy to do. A few years ago, local mafia Clifford Cullen, through his connections with corrupt politicians, found out where Olympic facilities would be erected. He decided to buy real estate in these areas, but faced opposition from Liam’s father, who refused to sell him his piece of land, for which he was killed by gangsters. Freed and learning about this story, Liam decides to take revenge, for which he enters into an alliance with a police detective.

Critics point out that this story, based on real events, had great potential to become a good TV show in the spirit of the American "Bug", but the authors of the tape chose the easiest way, turning everything into a standard gangster movie with a bunch of genre clichés .

"Ali, the wheels" (Stuber)

The main character of the tape is a taxi driver of Pakistani origin named Stu (Kumale Nanjiani). He tries to do his work diligently and most of all in his life he is concerned about the assessments he receives from clients in a mobile application. One day a brutal bull gets into his car and is presented by Los Angeles Police Officer Victor Manning (Dave Batista). He orders Stu to become his driver for the duration of the police operation to catch a dangerous drug dealer. As a result, a simple taxi driver is involved in a dangerous adventure.

The picture was shot in a comedy genre with elements of a criminal action movie. Its plot is largely built on the relationship between two completely different characters: Stu, Steve and rude and aggressive Manning. The tape received an age rating of 18+, which implies a rather bold humor and an abundance of scenes of violence.

“The Dead Do Not Die” (The Dead Don't Die)

The legend of American independent cinema Jim Jarmusch, known for such tapes as "Leave without end", "Coffee and cigarettes" and "Broken flowers", in his new film decided to turn to the genre of zombie films.

The tape takes place in the American province - the small provincial town of Centerville. At the center of the plot were the local police officers Cliff Robertson (Bill Murray) and Ronnie Peterson (Adam Driver). The fact that such a service in such a quiet place, can be judged by the initial scenes in which these brave law enforcement officers are called in to sort out the loss of the chicken.

However, soon Robertson and Peterson will have to work hard, because Centerville is approaching a zombie apocalypse. They will lead a group of surviving citizens and find a way to escape from the invasion of the walking dead.

As critics say, the plot is not the main thing in the film “The Dead Do Not Die”. Although Jarmusch uses the concept taken from the zombie horror, the tape itself cannot be attributed to the genre cinema. The main thing here is not the attraction, but the atmosphere, the images of the main characters and the branded author's irony present in most of the paintings of Jarmusch.

"Handsome man with experience" (How to be a French Lover)

A middle aged Alphonse named Alex (Cad Merad) was accustomed to a luxurious life, but with age he began to lose his “hold”: his 80-year-old passion left him, preferring to him a younger suitor. He remains without shelter and moves to his sister, whose son he has established friendships with. Alex begins to teach the teenager the intricacies of communication with the opposite sex and at the same time look after a new wealthy woman.
