Three people have died from the virus so far, including a medical intern and a gastroenterologist. A third doctor is seriously hospitalized because of the infection that causes hemorrhagic fever.

The representative of the World Health Organization in Bolivia Alfonso Tenorio told CNN that the arenavirus outbreak is in regression and called for calm. "If a new case should occur in the coming days, there is the country and the medical union with the best conditions to attend," said Tenorio.
