Erwin Olaf knighted in sixtieth birthday in Rijksmuseum

On Tuesday, on his sixtieth birthday, Erwin Olaf was named Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion.

The famous photographer was distinguished in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam for his leading photos and his commitment to the LGBT community, according to the municipality of Amsterdam.

Olaf received his ribbon from Mayor Femke Halsema at the opening of his exhibition 12x Erwin Olaf , in which he lets his photos enter into a dialogue with Dutch painting. Since his childhood, the photographer has been inspired by works that hang in the Rijksmuseum.

Erwin Olaf has just been named Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion 👑. The world-famous photographer received this award in the @rijksmuseum for his leading photos and his commitment to the LGBTIQ + community.
