The Spanish actor was awarded Saturday night closing the Cannes Film Festival for his role in "Pain and Glory".

Spanish actor Antonio Banderas won the men's interpretation prize at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival on Saturday night for his performance in "Pain and Glory" by his compatriot Pedro Almodovar, in which he plays a director immersed in the depression.

"Tonight is my night of glory," said the actor on stage, who paid tribute to Pedro Almodovar. "I respect him, I admire him, I love him, he's my mentor, and he gave me so much that this reward must be dedicated to him," Banderas said, receiving his award.
