More than 20 years ago, George Clooney played the Batman in the movie "Batman & Robin" - apparently a formative experience for the actor, but not necessarily in a good way. So he warned his acting colleague Ben Affleck even before the role.

He talked to Affleck and said, "Do not do it," Clooney said in the Hollywood Reporter's podcast. He received far less pay for the film, released in 1997, than Arnold Schwarzenegger, who played the villain Mr. Freeze. However, the criticism of the film had focused on Clooney: "I had to hold my head for it."

"I played Batman and it was not good, it was not a good movie either," said the Oscar winner. He learned from this failure and rethought his way of working. "I was not just an actor getting a role anymore, I was blamed for a whole movie."
