A big parade of colorful helium balloons, imaginative wagons, and celebrity guests: Macy's Parade, held in Thanksgiving, New York, is watched by millions on the ground, as well as on television. Amongst the show acts this year was singer Rita Ora - and her performance did not only evoke positive reactions on Twitter. The reason: The 27-year-old had clearly sung playback.

She was not the only one, and for good reason: John Legend, who also appeared - and had to take mocking comments - made it clear on Twitter: "Fun Fact. During this parade, we all have to sing playback." The floats are not able to meet the sound requirements for a live performance, wrote the singer. "I hope you all enjoyed it anyway."

Fun fact. Because the floats do not have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y'all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live! https://t.co/C2bGj63AF6

Rita Ora herself also spoke up. The singer thanked her colleague for clarification. Apparently, she is not really satisfied with the circumstances of the parade: "It is annoying for us, but anyway," she wrote.

Fun fact @johnlegend thank you for clarifying what i tweet about. It's annoying for us but anyway! All my shows are 100 percent live always have been! When you come to an ORA show get ready! Back to holidays! Have a good one guys! :) X https://t.co/pO5hnnQgvg

One hint was obviously important to both Ora and Legend: they would always sing live at their own shows, they wrote.
