The president of the French Council of Muslim worship, Ahmet Ogras, met the new Minister of the Interior, Christophe Castaner, on Thursday, and said he was ready with the government, "provided that there is no ingestion on the content of worship ", and that" we do not stigmatize Islam ".

The French Council of Muslim Faith (CFCM) said it was "ready to work " with the government on the organization of the Muslim religion, provided that Islam is not " stigmatized," said its president Ahmet Ogras. from a meeting with Christophe Castaner.

The new Minister of the Interior received in the early evening the leading bodies of the Muslim faith, as part of a wider consultation, in the coming weeks, with all representatives of the cults as well as with the secular sensibilities .

The goal is to "build an Islam that has its place in France, an Islam that is free from foreign interference and is driving to push back the radical ideas , " said Mr. Castaner recently, in an interview with Point, by considering a modification of certain points of the law of 1905 of separation of the Churches and the State.

A "label" for the quality of worship

"We are ready to work together," Ahmet Ogras told AFP, but "provided there is no interference with the content of worship," and "we do not stigmatize Islam " .

Among the "lines of work evoked" during the meeting, the minister "told us the government's desire to ensure that the management associations of the Muslim faith , " mostly constituted by associations under the 1901 law, "go towards the status of 'association law 1905, like other cults ,' said Anouar Kbibech, vice president. This would "benefit" , including tax, and "ensure transparency" expected on funding, he said.

Mr. Castaner also spoke to them about the idea of establishing a "label" issued for five years recognizing the cultural quality of an association. It would not be renewed "only if the place of worship received funding in connection with terrorism or in case of threat to public order , " said Mbibech. Another proposal is to declare donations over 10,000 euros "in the name of transparency" .

"Specific and concrete proposals"

"The minister told us that after the consultations, he would make specific and concrete proposals. Would it be before or after a speech by the President of the Republic? We do not know , "he added.

"We told him that we were aware of the strong expectation of transparency but that there was no need to stigmatize Muslim " cultists " , he said.

The minister also confirmed their arrival at the Congress of Muslims organized by the CFCM December 8 in Paris.
